New Commemorative: Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji

The Government of India will issue commemorative coins of Rs 200 and Rs 10 to celebrate the '200th Birth Anniversary of Satguru Ram Singh Ji.' The Ministry of Finance confirmed this through a gazette notification issued on June 3rd, 2019.

The ₹200 coin will be composed of a Quaternary Alloy, including 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. This coin will weigh 35 grams, with a diameter of 44 mm and feature 200 serrations along the edge.

As for the ₹10 coin, it will be Bi-Metallic, with an outer ring made of Aluminum Bronze and a center piece composed of Copper-Nickel. The coin will have a weight of 7.74 grams, a diameter of 27 mm, and a plain edge.

The obverse side of both coins will feature the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center, accompanied by the inscription "सत्यमेव जयते" below. On the left periphery, the word "भारत" will be inscribed in Devanagari script, and on the right periphery, the word "INDIA" will be written in English. Additionally, the Rupee symbol “₹” and the denominational value in international numerals will appear below the Lion Capitol.

On the reverse side of both coins, the central focus will be the portrait of "Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji," with the upper periphery bearing the inscription "श्री सतगुरु राम सिंह जी की द्वितीया जन्म शताब्दी" in Devanagari script. The lower periphery will feature "2nd Birth Centenary of Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji" in English. The international numeral representation of the years "1816-2016" will be inscribed at the bottom of the portrait.

This commemorative coin was initially planned for release in 2016; however, there appears to be a delay in acknowledging the event.
