New Commemorative Coin: Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab

The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 29, 2023, confirming this coin. Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab (born Harekrushna Das, 21 November 1899 – 2 January 1987) was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress, a distinguished figure in the Indian independence movement, and served as the Chief Minister of Odisha from 1946 to 1950 and again from 1956 to 1961. Widely recognized by the sobriquet "Utkal Keshari," Mahtab played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of Odisha during a pivotal period in the nation's history. The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. Possible Coins to Look Forward this Year and Early 2024

It's raining  commemorative coins , with the first six months of 2023 witnessing as many as nine releases—and many more expected in the coming months. The coins for  Shri N. T. NTR ₹100 Coin to be Released on April 28, 2023

A grand event celebrating 100 years of Telugu icon Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao , fondly known in the industry as NTR, is all set to take place at Anumolu Gardens, Vijayawada on April 28, 2023. A commemorative coin is expected to be released to mark this special occasion. Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the Telugu Desam Party, Superstar Rajinikanth, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Shri S. Venkatanarayana will be the chief guests for the event.  Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna, in a video, invited fans to come and be a part of the celebrations as well. He said, “The NTR centenary celebrations will take place on April 28th under the chairmanship of Janardhan, and it will be celebrated as a festival. Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for ₹150 Shri Ram Chandra Ji Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened the bookings for the ₹150  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  150th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandra Ji   from April 4, 2023 to May 15, 2023. Earlier, the President of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Shri Kamlesh Patel 'Daaji' released the ₹150 coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Fatehgarh, affectionately known as Lalaji, the Founder of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission on January 26, 2023 at Hyderabad. The Proof Set is priced at ₹3820 and UNC Set at ₹3300 for the Blister/Folder pack. For the Wooden box pack, t he Proof Set is priced at ₹4275 and UNC Set at ₹3990. These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the  official website  of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the  current and upcoming bookings  section.

Shri Kamlesh Patel Releases ₹150 Commemorative Coin on Lalaji

The President of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Shri Kamlesh Patel 'Daaji' released the ₹150 commemorative coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Fatehgarh, affectionately known as Lalaji, the Founder of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission on January 26, 2023. The release took place at the Heartfulness headquarters at Kanha Shanti Vanam, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, coinciding with the beginning of a ten-day-long music festival featuring performances by legendary Indian artists, followed by group meditation sessions. Possible Themes on New Commemorative Coins for 2023

As we move ahead from 2022, There are few gazette notified commemorative coins of Shri Ram Chandra Ji (Lalaji) , Raja Ram Mohan Roy , Jawaharlal Darda   are scheduled to release in 2023. T he much delayed  Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji  coin may also see the light this year. Apart from these, there are few potential themes where possible commemorative coins could be released by the Government of India in 2023. G20 Summit 2023 The 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit will take place on 9-10 September 2023 in New Delhi. The Summit will be a culmination of all the G20 processes and meetings held throughout the year among ministers, senior officials, and civil societies. A G20 Leaders’ Declaration will be adopted at the conclusion of the New Delhi Summit, stating Leaders’ commitment towards the priorities discussed and agreed upon during the respective ministerial and working group meetings.
