The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has started accepting bookings for the  commemorative coins  issued to mark the ' 250 Years of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited ' and ' Platinum Jubilee of Central Silk Board '. The bookings commenced today, on November 15, 2024, and are subject to limited availability. The ₹250 coin issued on Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and the ₹75 coin issued on Central Silk Board (CSB) are available in Proof and UNC sets, with Folder or Blister packaging options. Additionally, both coins are also offered in a Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box. The ₹250 MDL coin in Folder or Blister packaging is priced at ₹4,290 for the Proof Set and ₹3,985 for the UNC Set. The Proof Set with the MDF or Wooden Box is priced at ₹4,630. The ₹75 CSB coin in Folder or Blister packaging is priced at ₹3,650 for the Proof Set and ₹3,470 for the UNC Set. The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  with a denomination of ₹75 to celebrate the ' 75th Foundation Year of Central Silk Board '. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on September 18, 2024, confirming this coin. The Central Silk Board (CSB) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, established in 1948 to promote the development of the silk industry in India. Its primary role includes research, development, and promotion of sericulture (silk farming), along with ensuring quality control and market support for silk products. CSB plays a key role in improving silk production techniques, providing support to silk farmers, and encouraging the export of Indian silk, thereby contributing to the growth of the textile sector in India.
