New Series of ₹1 Coins Expected to Enter Circulation Soon!

In 2019, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi introduced the new definitive series coins , including denominations of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10, and ₹20. While the ₹2, ₹5, and ₹10 coins became part of the circulation in 2019, the ₹20 coins started circulating in the second half of 2020. Regrettably, the ₹1 coins did not make their appearance either in 2019 or 2020. According to the recent Reserve Bank of India's Annual Report, the new series of ₹1 coins has been minted and supplied to RBI's chest in approximately 1093 lakh units in the financial year 2019-20 and 1000 lakh units in 2020-21. Anticipating their release, many coin collectors eagerly await the circulation of ₹1 coins from the years 2019 and 2020 to add them to their collections.
