Mule Coins and Errors in UNC Sets of Hyderabad Mint

The Hyderabad mint has issued re-strikes of many commemorative coins in UNC sets in the recent times, it has found that there are many varieties, mules and errors which were made due to negligence. Some of them are listed below: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board The initial issued re-strike coins of ₹25 doesn't have the Hyderabad (★) mint mark. The mint has rectified the error in later releases.  Ter Centenary of Gur-Ta-Gaddi Two sets were released two lion variety with "₹" symbol and without "₹" symbol, the "₹" symbol is as mule. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Initially, the set was released with wrong description as "One Hundred Fifty Rupees" inside the set card instead of "One Hundred Rupees", but later was rectified with correct description. PM Modi Releases ₹150 coin and stamp on Sri Aurobindo

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the ₹150  commemorative coin  along with the postage stamp on occasion of  150th Birth Anniversary of  Sri Aurobindo  today via video conferencing.  The programme was held in Kamban Kalai Sangam, Puducherry, under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of the occasion of Sri Aurobindo’s 150th birth anniversary which is being celebrated with great fervour throughout the year. The Prime Minister highlighted that the nation is paying tributes to Sri Aurobindo by releasing a commemorative coin and postal stamp. The Prime Minister expressed the belief that such efforts by the nation will give new energy and strength to India’s resolutions. It's the 2nd time a commemorative coin is being released on Sri Aurobindo. The ₹150 commemorative coin has been minted by India Government Mint, Kolkata.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in a programme commemorating  Sri Aurobindo’s 150th Birth Anniversary  via video conferencing today at 5 PM. The programme, being held in Kamban Kalai Sangam, Puducherry, under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, will witness the Prime Minister releasing a  commemorative coin  and postal stamp in honour of Sri Aurobindo. He will also address the gathering on the occasion, which will include followers of Sri Aurobindo from across the country. Sri Aurobindo, born on 15th August 1872, was a visionary who made lasting contributions to India's freedom struggle. New Commemorative Coin: 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo

The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 150  commemorative coin  on occasion of  150th Birth Anniversary of  Sri Aurobindo . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification confirming the same on 9th December 2022. Sri Aurobindo was an Indian philosopher, yogi, maharishi, poet, and Indian nationalist. He was also a journalist, editing newspapers such as Vande Mataram. Earlier in 1998, commemorative coins in denominations of Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 10 and Rs 2 was issued on occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo . The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. Hyderabad Mint re-opens bookings for Mata Vaishno Devi Coins

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad has re-opened bookings for ₹5 and ₹10 commemorative coins of  Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board  in UNC Set with renewed blister packing at a whooping ₹950. The  commemorative coin  was released on the occasion of Silver Jubilee of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in 2013. This was the first time a coin of Rs 25 denomination was released along with the Rs 5 and Rs 10. Mumbai Mint confirms ₹1 coins of AKAM being circulated

The India Government Mint, Mumbai confirmed the ₹1 denomination minting and circulation of the recent special coin series of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in a reply to the RTI filed by Shri Sainath Malisetty, Bangalore dated 5th December 2022. The reply to the RTI clearly says that ₹1 coins in 100 pieces/numbers were minted with the year 2021 and 1200 pieces/numbers were minted with the year 2022 making the total of 1300 pieces/numbers released for circulation. Both the 2021 and 2022 years ₹1 coins will be considered as extremal rare due to very low mintage where dealers will take huge advantage of this though none of them has seen the ₹1  Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav coins .  Needless to say, the ₹1 denomination  2019 new series visually impaired coins  seem to be the same scenario as none of them has seen from past 3 years. Mumbai Mint opens booking for ₹175 coin of IIT Roorkee

The Mumbai Mint has opened the advanced booking for the  commemorative coin  of   ₹175 issued on occasion of  175 Years of Roorkee in  Proof and UNC sets from 01-December-2022 to 15-January-2023.  Earlier, the Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla released the  ₹175 commemorative coin, postage stamp and coffee table book as part of the 175th year foundation day ceremony of IIT Roorkee on 25th November 2022 at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Roorkee. The Blister/Folder package issued for Proof Set is ₹3580 and UNC Set at ₹3065. The Wooden Box package issued for Proof Set is ₹4015 and UNC Set at ₹3730.
