Punjab Govt to Celebrate 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji

The Government of Punjab will celebrate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji on a grand scale through year-long events to be held from February 2026 to February 2027. The celebrations will be guided by the blessings and advice of saints, eminent personalities, scholars, and religious sects. Punjab Finance Minister Shri Harpal Singh Cheema announced that a commemorative coin dedicated to Sri Guru Ravidass Ji will also be released as part of these celebrations. The programme will commence on February 4, 2026, with the beginning of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Khuralgarh Sahib and will conclude in February 2027. In November 2026, special Katha–Kirtan Darbar and Begampura programmes will be organised at Khuralgarh Sahib, with participation from religious leaders and other distinguished personalities. Kolkata Mint Begins Bookings for Sikkim and Chenab Bridge Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started the bookings for the ₹50 and ₹100   commemorative coins  on  Sikkim's Statehood  and  Jammu–Srinagar Railway Line . The bookings are open from February 2, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability. The ₹50 coin was issued to mark  50 Glorious Years of Sikkim’s Statehood . The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, virtually released the ₹50 commemorative coin, while the physical release was carried out by the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, and the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok, on 29 May 2025. The ₹100 coin was issued to mark the commissioning of the Jammu–Srinagar Railway Line , featuring the iconic Chenab Bridge . Mumbai Mint Reopens Bookings for Earlier Coin Issues

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, reopened bookings for several commemorative coins that were issued on various earlier occasions. The bookings were opened today, January 28, 2026, and were subject to limited availability. These coin sets were issued as Proof Sets with booklets, whereas they were earlier available only in folder or blister packaging. Mumbai Mint Commences Bookings for Sri Ramanasramam Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has commenced bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  Sri Ramanasramam Centenary . The bookings began today, January 24, 2026, and are available in limited quantities. Earlier, on September 14, 2025, the commemorative coin was released by Dr. Venkat S. Ramanan, President of Sri Ramanasramam, at the Downtown Event Center in Fremont, California. The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Shri Rakesh Adlakha, Deputy Consul General at the Consulate General of India (San Francisco); Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri), Padma Bhushan awardee and renowned scholar; Shri Raj Salwan, Mayor of Fremont; and Smt.
