The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has officially opened bookings for the commemorative coins issued on Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Paika Bidroha . Collectors can book these coins in both Proof and Uncirculated (UNC) Sets during the booking window, which extends from January 4, 2019, to April 4, 2019. In the last week of December 2018, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi formally released the ₹100 coin commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee , followed by the ₹200 coin marking the Bi-Centenary of Paika Bidroha . The Government of India will issue a ₹200  commemorative coin   to mark the  Bicentenary of Paika Bidroha . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 4, 2018, confirming this coin. The  metal composition  of the ₹200 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows. Obverse:  The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend 'सत्यमेव जयते' inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word 'भारत' in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word 'INDIA' in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol '₹' and denominational value '200' in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. The Government of India is set to issue a ₹200 commemorative coin to mark the 200th anniversary of the historic Paika Rebellion. The design for the proposed coin has been submitted for approval to Odisha Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik. The distinguished graphic artist, Mr. Gajendra Sahu, has crafted the design. Sahu, a senior artist in the graphics department at BK College in Bhubaneswar, is widely recognized for his previous works, including designing the Dronacharya and Arjuna Awards presented by the Government of India. His expertise in blending historical significance with artistic finesse makes him a fitting choice for this commemorative project. A specially constituted committee, headed by Culture Secretary Mr. Manoranjan Panigrahi and comprising other eminent personalities, entrusted Sahu with the responsibility of designing the coin.
