Kolkata Mint to Open Bookings for New Parliament Complex Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, will be opening the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin  issued on  New Parliament Complex . The bookings are open from June 12, 2023, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the coin and postal stamp while dedicating the New Parliament Building to the Nation, on May 28, 2023 in New Delhi. The Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, and Deputy Speaker of Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh were present on the occasion among others. The  ₹75 coin in  Proof Set is priced at ₹3,684 and UNC Set at  ₹3,397  for the Folder/Blister package. However, the Proof Set with MDF Box is priced at  ₹4,417. These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the  official website  of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the  current and upcoming bookings  section.

New Commemorative Coin: New Parliament Building

The Government of India will issue a ₹75  commemorative coin  to mark the inauguration of New Parliament Building . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on May 25, 2023, confirming this coin. The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on May 28, 2023. The ceremony will feature a grand puja, the installation of the historic Sengol, the screening of two short films, and the release of a commemorative coin and postage stamp. The new Parliament building forms a key component of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, launched by the Government of India in 2019. This ambitious project includes the redevelopment of Kartavya Path, the construction of a new residence for the Vice President, a new office and residence for the Prime Minister, and the integration of various ministerial offices into a single Central Secretariat.
