Chief Minister of Assam Releases Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj Coins

The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, virtually released a  commemorative coin  set comprising denominations of ₹100, ₹50, and ₹10, minted in honour of  Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj  of Bharat Sevashram Sangha. This momentous occasion took place at the closing ceremony of the "Quincentennial Birth Anniversary Celebration of the Sangha founder Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj" at ITA Machkhowa Complex in Guwahati on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister, Assam, Swami Biswatmananda Ji Maharaj, General Secretary, Shri Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Shri Pitambar Deb Goswami, Satradhikar -Auniati Satra, Shri Srijeeva Das Prabhu, President, ISKCON (Guwahati), Siddhartha Sankar Dey, Advocate General of Tripura were also present.  The coins, minted by India Government Mint, Kolkata, will soon be available for booking on the India Government Mint's website. New Commemorative Coin: Raja Ram Mohan Roy

The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 250 commemorative coin to celebrate the 250th Birth Centenary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification on 4th July 2022 confirming the same. Ram Mohan Roy (22 May 1772 – 27 September 1833) was an Indian reformer who was one of the founders of the Brahmo Sabha in 1828, the precursor of the Brahmo Samaj, a social-religious reform movement in the Indian subcontinent. He was given the title of Raja by Akbar II, the Mughal emperor. His influence was apparent in the fields of politics, public administration, education and religion. He was known for his efforts to abolish the practices of sati and child marriage. Roy is considered to be the "Father of the Bengal Renaissance" by many historians. The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge.

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened the advanced bookings of the second coloured Panchatantra souvenir sets with story-tale ' The Crow and The Snake .' The bookings are open from July 22, 2022 until stock last. The souvenir proof coin comes with a attractive package and priced at ₹1200. Earlier, the souvenir was displayed at an exclusive exhibition on Evolution of Indian Currency at Currency Note Press, Nashik conducted by  Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited ( SPMCIL) on 8th June 2022 . IBNS - Hindustan Chapter Formed

The International Bank Note Society (IBNS) was founded in 1961. It operates as a non-profit educational organization and in furtherance of such purpose, its objectives are to promote, stimulate, and advance the study and knowledge of worldwide banknotes and paper currencies and all matters related thereto along educational, scientific and historical lines.
