Kolkata Mint Begins Bookings for Sikkim and Chenab Bridge Coin Sets
The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started the bookings for the ₹50 and ₹100 commemorative coins on Sikkim's Statehood and Jammu–Srinagar Railway Line . The bookings are open from February 2, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability. The ₹50 coin was issued to mark 50 Glorious Years of Sikkim’s Statehood . The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, virtually released the ₹50 commemorative coin, while the physical release was carried out by the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, and the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok, on 29 May 2025. The ₹100 coin was issued to mark the commissioning of the Jammu–Srinagar Railway Line , featuring the iconic Chenab Bridge .
