The Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman released commemorative coin of ₹125 denomination to mark the ' 125th Anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda ' on October 29, 2019. "Here was a yogi who took the message which was universal message not based one particular school of thought or religion and made it so acceptable for the whole world. India feels strongly about this great son of the universe who brought in harmony to all our hearts and minds," Sitharaman said while speaking on the occasion. The Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Anurag Thakur, was also in attendance at the event alongside other dignitaries. This release signifies the sixth  commemorative coin  for the year 2019, with several more expected to be issued.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi releases six postal stamps and a ₹150 commemorative coin the mark the  150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi  today. "The entire world is celebrating Bapu’s birth anniversary. A few days ago, the UN issued a commemorative stamp in memory of Gandhi Ji, and we have launched another one today," PM Modi stated after unveiling the coin.
