New Possible Commemorative Coin: G20 Summit 2023

A possibility of ₹100 and ₹75  commemorative coins  and postage stamps are more likely to be issued in 2023 on occasion of 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit which will take place on 9-10 September 2023 in New Delhi. The theme for India's G20 Presidency is in sync with the key template of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s foreign policy - "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "One Earth-One Family-One Future". India will hold the Presidency of the G20 from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023. As the nation ramps up its preparation to hold the summit in 2023. India will organise more than 200 events spread across major cities, including Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, etc., as part of the summit.  Earlier, Countries like China, France and Italy have issued commemorative coins at their G20 Presidencies.  Govt. of India has also issued commemorative coins like 3rd India Africa Summit in 2015, 90th Interpol General Assembly in 2022 to name a few. Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha Releases ₹175 coin on IIT Roorkee

The Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla released the  ₹175 commemorative coin , postage stamp and coffee table book as part of the 175th year foundation day ceremony of IIT Roorkee at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Roorkee. Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Shri Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Secretary of India Post, Shri Vineet Pandey, Chairperson of 175 years committee, Prof. Arun Kumar and other dignitaries were also present at the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Shri Om Birla said ""I congratulate IIT Roorkee as it continues to be in the forefront of the pursuit of research and has contributed to the nation and the region. This institute has unwaveringly aimed at attaining global levels of excellence in education and creating a sustainable and equitable society through innovative research". The commemorative coin becomes the first with ₹175 denomination minted by India Government Mint in the history of Republic India coinage.

₹175 coin of IIT Roorkee will be Released on its Foundation Day

The  Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (abbreviated IIT Roorkee) will be celebrating their 175th Year Foundation Day at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Roorkee on November 25, 2022. A commemorative coin of ₹175 denomination will be issued on this special occasion. Earlier, a gazette notification has been issued on June 27, 2022. In their social media post, IIT Roorkee invited everyone stating as "We extremely delighted to invite you to the 175th year Foundation day ceremony of IIT Roorkee on November 25, 2022 (1847-2022) to witness the journey of imparting technical education and contribution in the development of the society. May this journey of success and learning continue for many more centuries to come, We Look forward to your gracious presence". It would be great if you can witness the celebrations and release of the commemorative coin.
