The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Souvenir in Folder/Blister pack starting from March 11, 2024. The souvenir token is minted with a colored image of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on the obverse side and Shri Ram Lala on the reverse side. The souvenir token comes in Silver with 999 fineness, weighing 50 grams, priced at ₹5213.  Indeed, the Kolkata Mint issued the same designed souvenir token for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir last month, marking the 19th Foundation Day celebrations of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL). It seems that approximately 15,000 units of the souvenir token from the Kolkata Mint have been sold. The souvenir token is available at the Mumbai Mint Premises as well as on the India Government Mint's official website. The Hon'ble Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, released the commemorative souvenir tokens during the 19th Foundation Day celebrations of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) on February 15, 2024. As the grand consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya approaches, an image of a ₹500 banknote has emerged on the internet, depicting Lord Ram. Widespread claims suggest that the image of Lord Ram has replaced Mahatma Gandhi on the banknote.
