PM Modi releases Rs 100 Coin on University of Lucknow

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the commemorative coin , postage stamp and special cover while attending the celebration of Centennial Foundation Day of University of Lucknow via video conferencing. The Prime Minister urged the University to introduce courses focused on local arts and products, emphasizing the importance of research to add value to these regional products. He suggested incorporating management, branding, and strategic aspects into the courses to enhance the global competitiveness of products like Lucknow’s ‘Chikankari,’ Moradabad's brass wares, Aligarh's locks, and Bhadohi Carpets. The aim is to contribute to the realization of the "one district, one product" concept. New Commemorative Coin: University of Lucknow

The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹100 on occasion of ' Centennial Celebrations of University of Lucknow .' The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on November 18, 2020, officially confirming the release of the coin. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will participate in the celebration of the Centennial Foundation Day of the University of Lucknow on November 25, 2020, at 5:30 PM via video conferencing. The Union Defence Minister, Governor of Uttar Pradesh, and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh will also be present on this significant occasion. The  metal composition  of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows. The obverse side of the coin will feature the Lion Capitol of the Ashoka Pillar in the center, accompanied by the ins
