PM Narendra Modi to release ₹60 coin to mark Diamond Jubilee of CBI

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be releasing the ₹60  commemorative coin  to mark the  Diamond Jubilee of  Central Bureau of Investigation  (CBI) on April 3rd 2023, 12 PM onwards at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Shri Amit Shah,  Union Home Minister & Minister of Co-Operation and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (PP) will also mark their presence on this occasion. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigating agency of India formed on 1 April 1963 through a Home Ministry resolution. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.  The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on March 29th 2023 confirming the commemorative coin. This release will make the third commemorative coin in ₹60 denomination after 60 years of India Govt Mint, Kolkata  in 2012 and 60 years of Coir Board  in 2014.

New Commemorative Coin: Central Bureau of Investigation

The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 60  commemorative coin  to mark the  Diamond Jubilee of  Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification today confirming the same. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigating agency of India formed on 1 April 1963 through a Home Ministry resolution. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Originally set up to investigate bribery and governmental corruption, in 1965 it received expanded jurisdiction to investigate breaches of central laws enforceable by the Government of India, multi-state organised crime, multi-agency or international cases. The agency has been known to investigate several economic crimes, special crimes, cases of corruption and other cases. The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams a

PM Narendra Modi to release ₹50 coin on Project Tiger at Mysuru

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch a three-day mega event on April 9th 2023 in Mysuru in Karnataka to mark the completion of 50 years of Project Tiger and showcase India's tiger conservation success globally. The Prime Minister will release the ₹50 commemorative coin along with the latest tiger census data, the government's vision for tiger conservation during 'Amrit Kaal' said S P Yadav, Member Secretary, National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). The National Tiger estimation is conducted every four years. The last estimation was done in 2018 and figures were released by Shri Narendra Modi on Global Tiger Day on July 29, 2019 in Delhi. There are 2,967 tigers in the country as per the 2018 estimation. The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on March 23rd 2023 confirming the commemorative coin. This will the first commemorative coin featuring 'Tiger' in the history of Republic India. Update : On 9th April, 2023, at around 7:15

The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 50  commemorative coin  on occasion of  50 years of Project Tiger . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification today confirming the same. Project Tiger, started in 1973, is a conservation effort initiated by the central government that aims to provide a sustainable population of tigers in their native habitats.  The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. The description of the coin is as below. Obverse:   The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed  below, flanked  with the  word “भारत” and  "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol "₹” and denomination  value “50” in International Numerals below the Ashoka Lion Capital. New Commemorative Coin: N.T. Rama Rao

The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 100  commemorative coin  on occasion of  Centennial Birth Year of Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification today confirming the same. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (28 May 1923 – 18 January 1996), often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, filmmaker and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred by the media as Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarwa Bhouma (transl. Universal star of acting). The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. Kolkata Mint opens bookings of Sri Aurobindo in MDF Box Set

The Kolkata Mint has opened the bookings for  ₹150 in  Proof coin in MDF Box Set of   Sri Aurobindo   from 18-March-2023 with limited stock of 500 units.  The MDF Box Set is priced at ₹4235.  On 14-February-2023, they opened bookings for  Sri Aurobindo  blister/folder packing which seems to be still available.  The Proof Set is priced at ₹3706 and UNC Set at  ₹3443 for blister/folder packing. PM Modi Releases ₹75 coin on International Year of Millets 2023

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the ₹75  commemorative coin , postage stamp and special cover on International Year of Millets 2023  while inaugurating the Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference at Subramaniam Hall, NASC Complex, New Delhi today. Based on India’s proposal, the year 2023 was declared as the International Year of Millets (IYM) by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Also, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to make the celebrations of IYM 2023 a ‘people’s movement’ and position India as the ‘global hub for millets’, all central government ministries/departments, states/UTs, farmers, start-ups, exporters, retail businesses and other stakeholders, are being engaged to promote and spread awareness about the benefits of millets (Shree Anna) for the cultivator, consumer and climate. The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 75  commemorative coin  on occasion of  International Year of Millets 2023  (IYM 2023) . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification today confirming the same. The UN General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution sponsored by India and supported by over 70 nations declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets, aimed at raising awareness about the health benefits of the grain and their suitability for cultivation under changing climatic conditions.  A big initiative is being taken by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to promote millets. On this occasion, a two-day program will be organised on  18th and 19th March, 2023 at Subramaniam Hall, NASC Complex, IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi to adopt and promote Millets.
