Possible Coins to Look Forward this Year and Early 2024

It's raining commemorative coins as the first six months of 2023 saw as many as nine releases and still has a lot more to come going forward although the coins of Shri N T Rama Rao and Shri Jawaharlal Darda are gazette notified and should be released within the next couple of months. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Rath Yatra Souvenir Tokens

The Kolkata Mint opened the bookings of  souvenir tokens  in Gold and Silver on occasion of ' Rath Yatra 2023 ' festival  from 20-June-2023. This year, the Puri Rath Yatra will take place on June 20 and culminate on June 28, 2023.  The souvenir tokens features the image of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra with the Puri temple at the background. The Gold tokens are issued in two variants, 10 grams priced at  ₹65,663.02 and 8 Grams priced at ₹52,581.29. However, the Silver tokens are issued only in 50 grams priced at ₹4,235.22 as on 20-June-2023. In 2010, Kolkata Mint had issued a silver 20 grams souvenir token to celebrate the Rath Yatra . In 2018, a ₹1000 and ₹10 coins were issued to commemorate Shree Jagannath Nabakalebara .   The  souvenir tokes are  available at Kolkata Mint Premises as well as at the  India Govt. VVIP Coin Sets: The scandal that's rocking the market

In recent times, there has been a huge scandal of fake VVIP Coin Sets being sold as original at numismatic exhibitions, online platforms and at social-networking sites. These fake sets are often produced with the intention to deceive collectors or unsuspecting buyers into believing they're acquiring valuable sets. The tower type sets are usually presented to the delegates who are invited as the guest of honour for the release of the commemorative coins . These sets are only limited to a maximum of 5-6 numbers whereas the frame sets are limited to one or two from India Government Mint. For the last five to six years, many coins in tower type sets and frame sets were made by one such dealer and sold at a huge amount.  They're often available only after the booking of the coins from India Government Mint. Kolkata Mint to open bookings for New Parliament Complex coin sets

The Kolkata Mint will open the bookings for  ₹75  commemorative coin  of New Parliament Complex   in  Proof and UNC sets with Folder/Blister package and Proof Sets with MDF Boxes  from 12-June-2023 with limited quantity. On 28-May-2023, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi while dedicating the  New Parliament Building  to the Nation released the ₹75 coin and postage stamp to mark the occasion. The  ₹75 coin in  Proof Set is priced at ₹3684 and UNC Set at  ₹3397  for the Folder/Blister package. However, the Proof Set with MDF Box is priced at  ₹4417. The  commemorative coin will be  available at Mint Premises as well as at the  India Govt.
