Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for 75th Anniversary of Constitution Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced bookings for the ₹75 commemorative coin issued to mark the 75th Anniversary of Constitution . Bookings are open from today, December 3, 2024, and are available in limited quantities. Earlier, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, along with Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, released the commemorative coin on  November 26, 2024,  at the Central Hall, Samvidhan Sadan, New Delhi. The ₹75 coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, packaged in Folder/Blister options. Proof sets with MDF/Wooden Box packaging are awaited, although it's uncertain if they will be issued. The Proof Set in Folder/Blister packaging is priced at ₹3,778, while the UNC Set is priced at ₹3,558. President Murmu Unveils ₹75 Coin on 75th Constitution Day

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, along with Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the ₹75 commemorative coin and a postage stamp to mark the 75th Anniversary of Constitution  at the Central Hall of Samvidhān Sadan in New Delhi. The event was attended by Speaker Shri Om Birla, Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, and other dignitaries. The tagline for the year-long celebrations is “Humara Samvidhan, Humara Swabhiman”. In addition to the release of the commemorative coin and postage stamp, the event also featured the unveiling of two books titled “Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse” and “Making of the Constitution of India & Its Glorious Journey”. Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend a special event on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, to mark 75 years of the Constituent Assembly's adoption of the Constitution. A ₹75  commemorative coin  and a postage stamp will be unveiled to mark the occasion. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju announced that the event will be held in the historic Central Hall of Samvidhān Sadan, the old Parliament building, where the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949. New Commemorative Coin: 75th Anniversary of Constitution

The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  with a denomination of ₹75 to mark the 75th Anniversary of Constitution . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on November 20, 2024, confirming this coin. The 75th Anniversary of the Constitution of India marks a significant milestone in the nation’s democratic journey. Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhāna Divas, is observed on November 26 each year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Adopted on November 26, 1949, and implemented on January 26, 1950, the Constitution forms the foundation of India's governance, enshrining principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The  metal composition  of the ₹75 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The Government of India might issue a commemorative coin with a denomination of ₹75 to celebrate the '75 Years of Indian Constitution'. The 75th anniversary will fall on November 26, 2024, and is celebrated as Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhān Divas or National Law Day. November 26 is celebrated in India every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950. However, the release of the coin will only be confirmed after the issuance of a gazette notification from the Ministry of Finance.
