New Commemorative Coin: Shri Jawaharlal Darda

The Government of India will be issuing a  Rs 100 commemorative coin to celebrate the Birth Centenary of Shri Jawaharlal Darda . A gazette notification has been issued on April 26, 2022, confirming the same. Shri. Jawaharlal A. Darda (Babuji) was a veteran Indian freedom fighter and a dedicated politician of Indian National Congress INC. He was the Founder Editor of Lokmat group of newspapers (now Lokmat Media). He was a well-known Journalist and a Prominent Politician of his time. The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. The description of the coin is as below.  Obverse:   The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed  below, flanked  with the  word “भारत” and  "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol &qu

MoF issues Gazette Notification for Delhi University Coin

The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on July 22, 2022, regarding the issuance of a commemorative coin to mark the ' Centenary Year of the University of Delhi .' In March 2022, Vice-Chancellor Shri Yogesh Singh had hinted at the issuance of a commemorative coin and postage stamp. The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. The description of the coin is as below.  Obverse:   The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed  below, flanked  with the  word “भारत” and  "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol "₹” and denomination  value “100” in International Numerals below the Ashoka Lion Capitol. PM Modi Releases ₹400 Coin on Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, actively took part in the celebrations of the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Red Fort in New Delhi today. On this significant occasion, the Sikh leadership bestowed an honor upon the Prime Minister. Additionally, PM released a ₹400  commemorative coin and postage stamp to mark the event. KNS Organises Monthly Meet at Rezwan Razack’s Museum

The Karnataka Numismatic Society organised its monthly meeting on April 10, 2022, exclusively for its limited members at Rezwan Razack’s Museum of Indian Paper Money. This marked their first gathering since the appointment of the new office bearers. The credit for organizing the meet goes to Dr. Rezwan Razack himself, a legendary figure in the field of collecting Indian currency notes. Before the museum visit, Dr. Razack conducted a brief presentation for all the members, followed by a high-tea and snacks, and each member received a certificate as a token of the visit.
