New Commemorative Coin: Centenary Year of Karnataka Bank

The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹100 to celebrate the ' Centenary Year of Karnataka Bank '. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 29, 2023, confirming this coin. Karnataka Bank, incorporated on 18 February 1924, stands as a venerable financial institution with a rich history of service and commitment. Headquartered in Mangaluru, Karnataka, this leading private sector bank has evolved over the years to become a trusted name in the Indian banking sector. The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a  Quaternary Alloy , comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows. The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹100 to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 29, 2023, confirming this coin. Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab (born Harekrushna Das, 21 November 1899 – 2 January 1987) was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress, a distinguished figure in the Indian independence movement, and served as the Chief Minister of Odisha from 1946 to 1950 and again from 1956 to 1961. Widely recognized by the sobriquet "Utkal Keshari," Mahtab played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of Odisha during a pivotal period in the nation's history. The Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari, along with the NCP President, Shri Sharad Pawar, unveiled the ₹125  commemorative coin  on the occasion of the ' 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh ' at the National Agriculture Exhibition organised by Shri Shivaji Agriculture College, Amravati, today. The Minister of Law & Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, released a ₹125  commemorative coin  and a postage stamp today to commemorate the ' 125 Years of Ramakrishna Mission ' at the Abhedananda Convention Center, Belur Math, Howrah. Among the other dignitaries present were Chief General Manager of Kolkata Mint, Shri Rajat Paul; Postmaster General of South Bengal Region, Kolkata, Shri Sanjiv Ranjan; Director in the Ministry of Culture, Smt. Priyanka Chandra (IDAS); and Swami Suvirananda, General Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission. Shri Acharya Devvrat Releases Rs 1000 Coin on Khartargachha Millennium

The Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, released the  commemorative coin  of ₹1000 along with the postal stamp today at Palitana, on the occasion of the  Khartargachha Sahastrabdi , marking the completion of its 1000 years of foundation by Jaincharya Shri Jineshwar Suri. The ₹1000 coin, released today, is minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata, and comprises Pure Silver. It has a weight of 40 grams, a diameter of 44 mm, and features 200 serrations along the edge.  This release marks the 18th  commemorative coin  for the year 2023 and the third coin with the denomination of ₹1000. Ministry of Law & Justice to Release Coin on Ramakrishna Mission

The ₹125 commemorative coin and a postage stamp commemorating the ' 125 Years of Ramakrishna Mission ' will be released on December 27, 2023 at Abhedananda Convention Center, Belur Math, Howrah. The event will be graced by the Minister of Law & Justice, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Sri Arjun Ram Meghwal. Founded by Swami Vivekananda on May 1, 1897, the Ramakrishna Mission achieved a significant milestone, completing 125 years of its illustrious journey on May 1, 2022. The Government of India will issue a ₹1000  commemorative coin  on the occasion of  Khartargachha Millennium , Founder Jaincharya Shri Jineshwar Suri. The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on December 23, 2023, confirming the coin. Kharatargaccha was established by Vardhamana SÅ«ri, and his pupil, Jineshvara, earned the honorary title 'Kharatara' for defeating Suracharya, the leader of Chaityavasis, in a public debate in 1023 at Anahilvada Patan. This title was also bestowed upon the Gaccha. 'Kharatara' signifies being 'beyond' (tara) 'purity' (khara), signifying a commitment to absolute truth by unwavering adherence to religious scriptures (Jain Agamas). The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹125 to mark the  125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 21, 2023, confirming this coin. Pandurangrao Shamrao Deshmukh (27 December 1898 – 10 April 1965), commonly known as Bhausaheb Deshmukh, was a prominent social activist and a leader dedicated to the welfare of farmers in India. He served as the Minister of Agriculture in the inaugural cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1952. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Saint Meera Bai Coins

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started accepting bookings for the ₹525  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  525th Birth Anniversary of Saint Meera Bai . The booking period began on December 15, 2023, and is subject to limited availability. The ₹525 coin, included in the Proof Set and available in Folder/Blister packaging, is priced at ₹3,513. While the UNC Set is priced at ₹3,273 and is yet to be open for booking, the Proof Set with the MDF/Wooden Box is also awaiting availability for booking. The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has opened bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the National Defence Academy  from December 4th, 2023, and is subject to limited availability. The  National Defence Academy  coins are issued in Proof with MDF/Wooden Box package, while the Proof Set and UNC Set with the Folder/Blister packaging are still yet to open for booking. The ₹75 coin in the Proof Set with MDF/Wooden Box package priced at ₹4,850. The President, Smt. President Murmu Releases ₹75 coin on Armed Forces Medical College

The President of India and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, released a ₹75 commemorative coin , special cover, and postage stamp to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune , while conferring the President's Colour upon the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) today.
