New Commemorative Coin: Centenary Year of Andhra University

The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the  Centenary Year of Andhra University . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on April 22, 2026, confirming this coin. Andhra University is one of India’s oldest and most respected institutions of higher education, established in 1926 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as arts, science, engineering, law, management, and pharmacy. Hyderabad Mint Begins Bookings for Andhra University Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  Centenary Year of Andhra University . The bookings are open from April 28, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on April 27, 2026,  the Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, unveiled the  ₹100 coin  to mark the occasion .  The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Governor Shri S. Abdul Nazeer, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri K. Ram Mohan Naidu, former Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Governor of Odisha Dr. K. Hari Babu, and former India cricketer Shri Sachin Tendulkar were present among other distinguished dignitaries.
