The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has opened the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 75 Years of National Sample Survey . The bookings are open from January 20, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability. The Government of India will issue a ₹75  commemorative coin  to mark the  75th Anniversary of the National Sample Survey . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on June 27, 2025, confirming this coin. The National Sample Survey (NSS) is a large-scale, nationwide survey conducted by the Government of India to collect vital socio-economic data. Initiated in 1950, it provides statistical insights on various subjects such as employment, consumption, health, education, and housing. Conducted through periodic rounds by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the NSS plays a crucial role in shaping evidence-based policies and tracking developmental progress across the country. Its data is widely used by policymakers, researchers, and institutions to understand the living conditions of both urban and rural populations.
