Mumbai Mint Open Bookings for National Technology Day Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has initiated bookings for the ₹100 commemorative coin , issued in honour of National Technology Day . The bookings commenced on November 22, 2023, and will continue until December 30, 2023. Earlier, On May 11, 2023, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the ₹100 coin and a postal stamp marking  National Technology Day , the 25th Anniversary of Operation Shakti at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Union Minister for Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Shri Jitendra Singh were present on the occasion among others.  The National Technology Day coins are issued in Proof and UNC sets in Folder/Blister packages and Proof Sets with MDF Boxes. The ₹100 coin in the Proof Set is priced at ₹4,015, while the UNC Set is available at ₹3,495 for the Folder/Blister package. The Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a ₹100 commemorative coin and a postal stamp marking National Technology Day , the 25th Anniversary of Operation Shakti on May 11, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Union Minister for Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Shri Jitendra Singh were present on the occasion among others.  In his address, Shri Modi recalled the pride of the Pokhran nuclear tests, emphasising how they showcased India’s scientific strength. New Commemorative Coin: National Technology Day

The Government of India  will be issuing a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the ' National Technology Day - 25th Anniversary of Operation Shakti ' .  The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on May 3, 2023, confirming this coin. National Technology Day, observed on 11 May every year, celebrates India’s remarkable achievements in science and technology. The day commemorates the successful Pokhran-II nuclear tests of 1998, which showcased the nation’s advanced technological capabilities. It also honours the contributions of scientists, engineers, and innovators who drive India’s progress. Across the country, educational institutions and organisations hold events to inspire young minds and promote a spirit of innovation and research. The  metal composition  of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc.
