New Commemorative Coin: University of Delhi

The Government of India will be issuing a ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the 'Centenary Year of University of Delhi.'

The University of Delhi, informally known as Delhi University, is set to celebrate its 100 years, with festivities commencing on May 1, 2022.

Announcing a myriad of initiatives on March 3, Vice-Chancellor Shri Yogesh Singh highlighted that at the core of the celebrations is the idea of honoring the unsung heroes of Delhi University, individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the country from the pre-independence era to the present times. As part of the celebrations, a commemorative coin and stamp will be launched.

The Vice-Chancellor also unveiled the centenary logo and tagline of the university, selected through a competition. The design by Kratika Khinchi, a student of Gargi College, was chosen for this honor.

Therefore, a ₹100 commemorative coin is expected to be issued soon, pending the gazette notification from the Ministry of Finance.
