New Commemorative Coin: 20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat Summit

The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin with a denomination of ₹20 to celebrate the completion of '20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat Summit'. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on January 02, 2024, confirming this coin.

Vibrant Gujarat is a biennial investors' summit organized by the Government of Gujarat in India. The summit serves as a platform to unite business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders, policy and opinion makers, with a focus on understanding and exploring business opportunities in the state of Gujarat.

The metal composition of the ₹20 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.

Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “20” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.

Reverse: The face of the coin will bear the logo of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. At the bottom of the logo the inscription ‘Celebrating 20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat’ in English shall be written. The year ‘2003’ and ‘2023’ shall be in scripted on left and right side of the text ‘Celebrating 20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat’. The text “विकसित भारत @ 2047 के लिए अग्रसर गुजरात” shall be inscribed in Devanagari script on the upper periphery of the coin.

The commemorative coin is anticipated to be released on January 10, 2024, to mark the Inauguration Ceremony of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 by Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The possibility and upcoming coins page have been updated for your reference.
