KNS to Celebrate Golden Jubilee at Nanya Darshini 2024

The Karnataka Numismatic Society, also known as Kannadanadu Nanya Sangha or KNS, will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee at the Nanya Darshini 2024 Exhibition. This highly anticipated exhibition of coins, banknotes, stamps, and collectibles, will take place on 12th, 13th, and 14th of July 2024. The venue for this grand event will be held at Shikshak Sadan, KG Road, Opp Kaveri Bhavan, Nagarathpete, Majestic, Bengaluru 560002.

Established on August 6th, 1974, the Karnataka Numismatic Society boasts a rich history, with Sri. Bryon Hannon serving as its first president. Recognised as one of the most esteemed societies in India, with nearly 1300 members, KNS offers various programs and initiatives to enhance the knowledge and confidence of its members in collecting. Monthly meetings are held every second Sunday, featuring eminent numismatists who address the gatherings and provide opportunities to felicitate and acknowledge members who exhibit their collections.

The current governing committee consists of Shri Rajendra Maru as President, Shri P. Subramanyam Setty as Vice President, Shri N.R Suresh as Secretary, and Shri G.K.Shenoy as Treasurer, along with Dr. Giridhara Rao Havaldar, Shri Manjunath, and Shri Vinod Puthanikar serving as Executive members.

The inauguration and lamp lighting ceremony will take place on July 12th at 11:00 AM. The Chief Guest for the event will be Shri Satpal Maharaj, Minister of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand. The Guest of Honour will be Dr. Rezwan Razack, Joint Managing Director, Prestige Estates Projects Ltd, Bangalore. At 11:30 AM, there will be a felicitation and honouring ceremony for the past committee members of the Karnataka Numismatic Society. 

Major auctions will take place over all three days of the event. Todywalla Auctions is scheduled for July 12th, following the inauguration, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Marudhar Arts will hold Real-Time Auction No. 44 on July 13th from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Oswal Auctions will conclude the event on July 14th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 

Following Oswal Auctions, there will be a felicitation ceremony for scholars, exhibitors, and volunteers of Nanya Darshini 2024. This will be followed by an address from Shri Rajendra Maru, President of the Karnataka Numismatic Society, and a vote of thanks by Shri Suresh N.R, Secretary of the Karnataka Numismatic Society.
