Kolkata Mint Re-Opens Bookings for Srila Prabhupad Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has re-opened bookings from today for the ₹150 commemorative coin issued to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad. The booking initially commenced on March 9, 2024, with a limited quantity of only 300 coins available.

Despite the significant rise in the price of silver, the re-booking price for this Proof Set, offered in Folder/Blister packaging, remains the same as the initial booking price of ₹3,087. However, the UNC Set in Folder/Blister packaging and the Proof Set, which includes an MDF/Wooden Box, have not yet been made available.

It appears that the delay in reopening the bookings for the Srila Prabhupad coin sets was due to heavy internal orders for the ₹90 coin issued in celebration of the 90 Years of Reserve Bank of India. The focus on fulfilling these high-demand orders has impacted the scheduling for other commemorative coins.

Collectors who are looking for this themed coin or missed ordering earlier can now place their orders on the India Government Mint website or obtain them at the Mint's Counter Sale. However, please note that the availability of the ₹150 commemorative coin may be limited. For further details and updates, refer to the "Current and Upcoming Bookings" section for your reference and convenience.

Update as of August 30, 2024:

The UNC Set in Folder/Blister packaging is now open for booking at a price of ₹2,831, as listed on the Mint's official website on August 30, 2024.

    1. Issued in a quantity of 50 units, it's now sold out. Keep checking the mint's website, as they may restock.

  2. I bought the UNC set of this theme from the website last week. I was shocked to notice that the spelling mistakes are not corrected even now. These mistakes were in the original sets issued in March beginning. Pathetic state of quality checks in the mint.
