Rajasthan Governor Unveiled ₹25 coin on Shri Harakhchand Nahata
The Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Haribhau Bagde, along with Jainacharya Shri Jin Piyush Sagar Surishwarji, unveiled a ₹25 commemorative coin in honor of Shri Harakhchand Nahata today, on February 2, 2025, at Harakhmani Estate in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Vishwanath Meghwal, MLA, and Former Minister of Education Dr. Bulaki Das Kalla, along with several other distinguished guests.
The Hon'ble Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde, while addressing the gathering, stated that Shri Harakhchand Nahata made an unparalleled contribution to trade and commerce, as well as to public service and religious endeavors. Through his association with numerous well-established institutions across the country, he actively participated in public welfare initiatives and provided continuous financial support for various causes.
The Governor emphasized that the release of a commemorative coin in honor of Shri Harakhchand Nahata by the Government of India reflects a long-standing tradition of recognizing great individuals who illuminate society with their contributions. He highlighted that a person’s legacy is measured by time and history, and Shri Harakhchand Nahata’s strong personality, unwavering self-confidence, farsighted vision, and deep commitment to public welfare earned him a distinguished place in society.
Citing the exemplary lives of renowned philanthropists such as Bhamashah, Seth Ghanshyam Das Birla, and Samarth Ramdas, the Governor underscored the importance of cultivating a habit of giving according to one’s capacity. He also remarked that the people of Rajasthan are inherently religious and should actively contribute to the preservation of their cultural heritage.
The Governor ceremoniously handed over the executive coin set to the third generation of Shri Harakhchand Nahata's family. The children, as his proud descendants, received the coin set as a symbol of his lasting influence and philanthropic legacy.
