2022 - 90th Interpol General Assembly | Commemorative Coin

The 5th commemorative coin for the year 2022 was released to mark the 90th Interpol General Assembly.

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the world's largest international police organization, is headquartered in Lyon, France, boasting 195 member countries. In a significant development, India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is scheduled to address the 90th Interpol General Assembly on Tuesday in New Delhi. This annual assembly, spanning from October 18 to 21, will convene at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The 90th General Assembly of Interpol is a gathering of paramount importance, drawing delegations from all 195 INTERPOL member countries. The attendees include Ministers, Police Chiefs, Heads of National Central Bureaus, and Senior police officers. This meeting serves as a platform for key decision-making related to Interpol's functioning. Notably, it marks a historic occasion as the General Assembly returns to India after a hiatus of 25 years, the last assembly being held in 1997.

The event underscores India's pivotal role on the global stage in addressing international law enforcement challenges.
