About

Numismatics is a merit-based hobby accessible to enthusiasts worldwide. It involves the collection and study of artistic pieces that offer insights into engravings, empires, history, sociology, and metallurgy. Each coin narrates a unique story, and every story imparts valuable lessons.

Known as the "Hobby of Kings," numismatics has historical roots, with evidence suggesting that rulers like Caesar Augustus engaged in collecting coins and currency from foreign lands.

In the modern era, the study of coin collecting has evolved with advancements in communication and the Internet. Local coin clubs and specialized interest societies have become prevalent globally, fostering a vibrant community of collectors.

This blog, created by S Navaneethan Ramanujam, an entrepreneur and passionate numismatist, aims to assist you in building your story within the realm of numismatics. He is actively engaged with numismatics associations and has notable affiliations, including:

  • Life Member, The Numismatic Society of India, BHU
  • Life Member, IBNS: India Banknote Collectors Chapter

  • Member, Worldwide Bi-Metallic Collectors Club (WBCC)
In 2022, he has successfully completed the certificate course on Basics of Indian Numismatics organized by the College of Mass Communication and Journalism, MGM University, Aurangabad.

He's also actively participating in various numismatic meets and exhibitions, showcasing a selection of his collections at these events, which has sparked increased enthusiasm for continued participation in upcoming events.

As mentioned earlier, the primary purpose of creating this blog is to disseminate the latest news, updates on Indian numismatics, and encourage the hobby to safeguard coins for future generations.

There are preliminary plans to launch an online hobby store offering books, numismatic accessories, as well as certified coins and banknotes.
