2022 - Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society | Mint Souvenir Token

The first souvenir token issued by the India Government Mint on Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society as part of Society's Diamond Jubilee Edition.

The history of the Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society (Regd.) goes back to 1962, when it was born as Indo-American Philatelic Society, founded and formally inagurated by Mr. Millet of USA for spreading knowledge and promoting the hobby of Philately on 12.12.1962. The society is affiliated to the Philatelic Congress of India; a National Federation of Philatelic Societies in India.

The society was renamed as "The Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society" in 1974. The organisation with renewed vigour took up promoting Philately, Numismatics, Notaphily, Match-box labels, etc. The publication of regular monthly e-magazine in 2 parts, The Hyderabad Philatelist and The Hyderabad Hobby Magazine on the first day of each month, speaks volumes about the commitment and professionalism.

The society celebrated it's 60th Anniversary in the year 2022. On this occasion, Society is proudly issuing the limited edition medals minted by India Government Mint, Hyderabad.
