2019 - Shree Mahalakshmi Pujan | Mint Souvenir Token

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, released the commemorative souvenir token to celebrate Shree Mahalakshmi Pujan on the occasion of the Deepavali (Diwali) festival.

Shree Mahalakshmi Pujan is a traditional Hindu worship ceremony dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the revered goddess of wealth, prosperity, abundance, and good fortune. The worship is performed with devotion to seek blessings for happiness, success, financial well-being, and the prosperity of the family and community.

Goddess Mahalakshmi is traditionally associated with purity, beauty, auspiciousness, and abundance. During the pujan, devotees offer flowers, fruits, sweets, lamps, and other sacred offerings while reciting prayers and hymns dedicated to the Goddess. Lighting lamps is an important part of the worship and symbolises the removal of darkness and the arrival of prosperity and positive energy.

The worship of Mahalakshmi holds special significance during festivals and auspicious occasions, particularly during Diwali, when Lakshmi Puja forms an integral part of the celebrations. Homes and places of business are cleaned and decorated, and devotees perform special prayers seeking the Goddess’s blessings for prosperity and success.

Shree Mahalakshmi Pujan also reflects India's rich tradition of devotion and reverence for divine feminine energy. The ceremony brings families and communities together in prayer and celebration while reinforcing values of gratitude, generosity, purity, and responsible use of prosperity.

The bookings commenced on August 4, 2026, and the set is being offered in limited quantities.
