Former President Releases ₹125 Coin on Shri Ram Chandra, Babuji Maharaj

The Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, released the ₹125 commemorative coin to mark the '125th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandra 'Babuji Maharaj', today, on April 30, 2024, along with Shri Kamlesh Patel 'Daaji', at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad. The Former President has also been assigned as the Chairman of the International Heartfulness Celebrations Committee.

Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur (1899-1983), affectionately known as Babuji, was a yogi from Uttar Pradesh, India. He devoted most of his life to developing and spreading a unique method of Raja Yoga meditation called Sahaj Marg.

In 1945, he established the Shri Ram Chandra Mission with a vision to share this spiritual practice. The organisation was named in honor of his spiritual teacher, who shared the name Ram Chandra. Besides his spiritual teachings, Babuji's life was characterized by humility, dedication, and a profound commitment to guiding individuals on their inner journeys. He believed in the universality of spiritual truths and worked tirelessly to make meditation accessible and relevant to the modern world.

The Former President addressed the audience, stating, "As we celebrate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Pujya Babuji Maharaj, it is heartening to see how his vision of a universal religion has manifested through the Heartfulness movement under Daaji's able leadership. The expansion of Shri Ram Chandra Mission from its humble beginnings to a global community of practitioners is truly remarkable, and it speaks volumes about the relevance and appeal of Babuji Maharaj's teachings."

He also recounted his own experiences at the Satkhol Ashram over two decades ago, stating that they provided him with a glimpse of the transformative power of spiritual practice. Furthermore, he noted that even science is increasingly affirming the benefits of meditation and the intelligence of the heart.

This release marks the ninth commemorative coin release for the year 2024, minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. Stay tuned for upcoming booking details to receive updates on bookings from the India Government Mint's website.
