PM Modi to Release ₹75 Coin on Supreme Court of India

The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, will release the ₹75 commemorative coin to mark '75 Years of the Supreme Court of India' during the inauguration of the National Conference of the District Judiciary on August 31, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The Supreme Court of India, established on January 28, 1950, is the highest judicial authority in the country, serving as the guardian of the Indian Constitution. It plays a crucial role in interpreting laws, safeguarding fundamental rights, and ensuring justice for all citizens. The Court has now spent three-quarters of a century upholding one of the world’s most comprehensive and intricate constitutions.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance had issued a gazette notification on July 11, 2024, confirming this commemorative coin.

The ₹75 coin is reportedly being minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. This will be the third pure silver coin to be released this year, following the '75th Republic Day Celebrations' and '90 Years of the Reserve Bank of India'.
