First look of Austrian Mint Coin Club Token

Image
Here is the first look at the Austrian Mint Coin Club Token. Although they are distributing the 2017 tokens, I was anticipating the release of the 2018 token. Symbolizing luck in Austria, the pig has been featured on the Austrian Mint's annual lucky token since 2016. Each year, the cheerful hog finds itself in a different fortunate scenario on this New Year talisman. The 2017 edition showcases the pig discovering a lucky mushroom, reminiscent of the historical use of pigs to locate another type of fungus – the truffle. The tradition linking pigs and good luck is believed to have originated from the practice of awarding pigs as consolation prizes to those who finished last in medieval tournaments. The Austrian Mint is offering a free good luck token in a blister package along with a complimentary subscription to the magazine "Die Muenze." Simply register and apply for coin club membership . However, it's crucial to exercise caution due to the prevalence of counterfeit coins originating from China. Recently, the Indian market has witnessed an influx of counterfeit coins. The quality of these imitations is exceptional, featuring a high-grade finish. The Proof and UNC sets of the Rs. 200 coin featuring Tatya Tope are yet to be released by the India Government Mint. The ' 1000 Years of Brihadeeswarar Temple ' coin comprises 80% Silver and 20% Copper. However, these counterfeit coins are produced with base metal, lacking any numismatic value.
