First look of Austrian Mint Coin Club Token of 2017

A first look at the Austrian Mint Coin Club Token reveals that while the 2017 tokens are currently being distributed, collectors have been eagerly anticipating the release of the 2018 edition.

Symbolizing luck in Austria, the pig has been featured on the Austrian Mint's Annual lucky token since 2016. Each year, the cheerful hog appears in a new fortunate scenario on this New Year talisman. The 2017 edition depicts the pig discovering a lucky mushroom, recalling the historical use of pigs to locate another type of fungus—the truffle.

The association between pigs and good luck is believed to have originated from the medieval practice of awarding pigs as consolation prizes to those who finished last in tournaments.


The Austrian Mint is offering a free good luck token in a blister package along with a complimentary subscription to the magazine "Die Muenze." Simply register and apply for coin club membership.

Hyderabad Mint Opens Bookings for Sri Sathya Sai Baba Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has opened the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  Birth Centenary of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba . The bookings are open from November 19, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier in the day, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the commemorative coin and postage stamp to mark the event at Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the ' Birth Centenary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba '. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on April 22, 2025, confirming this coin. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was a revered spiritual leader and humanitarian, known for his teachings on love, unity of religions, and selfless service. Born in 1926 in Puttaparthi, India, he inspired millions through his message of "Love All, Serve All" and established numerous free hospitals, schools, and water projects to uplift humanity. His legacy continues to guide people worldwide in living a life of compassion, truth, and devotion. The  metal composition  of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc.
