Shri Anurag Singh Thakur Releases Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya Coin

The Hon’ble Minister of State - Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur released the commemorative coin marking ' 125th Departure Anniversary of Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya ' at a virtual ceremony on October 24, 2020. In adherence to COVID guidelines, the release of commemorative coins this year predominantly takes place through virtual ceremonies. This shift to virtual platforms reflects the global efforts to ensure safety during the ongoing pandemic.  This marks the third commemorative coin released in October and in the year 2020, minted by India Government Mint, Mumbai. The gazette notification was issued by the Ministry of Finance on August 17, 2020.

PM Modi Releases Rs 75 Commemorative Coin on FAO

The Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a Rs 75  commemorative coin  to mark the ' 75th Anniversary of FAO ' today, on October 16, 2020, through a video conferencing ceremony.  He dedicated to the nation, 17 recently developed biofortified varieties of crops. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister greeted all those working globally to eliminate malnutrition. He highlighted the crucial role of India’s farmers, agricultural scientists, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, who not only fill the nation’s granaries but also ensure food reaches the poorest, helping India fight malnutrition even during the COVID-19 crisis. He acknowledged FAO’s long-standing support in boosting agricultural production and nutrition worldwide, including in India, and praised the World Food Programme’s Nobel Peace Prize as a major milestone. Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for 250th Session of Rajya Sabha Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai Mint has opened the bookings for the ₹250 commemorative coin issued to mark  250th Session of Rajya Sabha . The bookings are open from October 14, 2020, to November 27, 2020, although counter sales began in January 2020. The ₹250 commemorative coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, presented in a Folder/Blister pack. Additionally, it is also offered with an MDF box packaging option for both variants. The ₹250 coin in the Proof Set is priced at ₹4,390, while the UNC Set is available at ₹3,980 for the Folder or Blister package. For those interested in the MDF Box, it is priced at ₹5,580 for the Proof Set and ₹5,170 for the UNC Set. These coins can be obtained either at the Mint Premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint. PM Modi Releases ₹100 Coin of Smt. Vijaya Raje Scindia

The Hon'ble Prime Minister released a ₹100  commemorative coin  on  Smt. Vijaya Raje Scindia  during a virtual ceremony marking her birth centenary on October 12, 2020. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia was a decisive leader and skilled administrator who guided India in the right direction. Having witnessed key phases of Indian politics—from the burning of foreign clothes to the Emergency and the Ram Temple movement—her life, he said, must be known to the younger generation. He noted that Rajmata taught that public service does not require birth in a particular family, only love for the nation and a democratic spirit.
