PM Modi releases Rs 100 Coin of Smt. Vijaya Raje Scindia

In homage to Smt. Vijaya Raje Scindia, one of the founders of the BJP, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a ₹100 commemorative coin during a virtual ceremony commemorating her birth centenary.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to unveil a special commemorative coin of Rs 100 in honour of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Ji during a virtual ceremony.

Reflecting on Vijayaraje Ji's book, the Prime Minister noted that in its pages, he was introduced as a youth leader from Gujarat, and today, after many years, he serves as the Pradhan Sevak of the country.

During the event, the Prime Minister emphasised that Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia was a pivotal figure who steered India in the right direction. He described her as a decisive leader and a skilled administrator who witnessed significant phases of Indian politics, including the burning of foreign clothes, the Emergency, and the Ram Temple movement. Stressing the importance of acquainting the present generation with Rajmata's life, the Prime Minister highlighted the need to repeatedly mention her and share her experiences.

This release marks the first commemorative coin for the year 2020, with several more expected to be issued.

The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹90 on occasion to mark the 90 Years of Celebration of Reserve Bank of India . RBI Coin Sets Now Available at India Govt Mint's Delhi Counter

The ₹90  commemorative coin  issued to celebrate the  90 Years of Reserve Bank of India  (RBI) is now available at the Sales Counter at India Government Mint's Corporate Office in New Delhi. The ₹90 coin, featured in the Proof Set and offered in Folder/Blister packaging, is priced at ₹4950 as of April 18, 2024. However, online bookings for the commemorative coin have not yet begun, and there may be a difference in online pricing. It's important to note that the  metal composition  of this ₹90 coin is Pure Silver (99.9%), weighing 40 grams with a diameter of 44 mm. It also features 200 serrations along the edge. The ₹90 is minted by India Government Mint, Kolkata.
