Shri Anurag Singh Thakur Releases Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya Coin

The Hon’ble Minister of State - Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur released the commemorative coin marking '125th Departure Anniversary of Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya' at a virtual ceremony on October 24, 2020.

In adherence to COVID guidelines, the release of commemorative coins this year predominantly takes place through virtual ceremonies. This shift to virtual platforms reflects the global efforts to ensure safety during the ongoing pandemic. 

This marks the third commemorative coin released in October and in the year 2020, minted by India Government Mint, Mumbai. The gazette notification was issued by the Ministry of Finance on August 17, 2020.

Kolkata Mint Commences Bookings for RSS Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 100 Years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The bookings are open from October 7, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on October 1, 2025, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the commemorative coin along with a special postal stamp to mark the event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a booklet pack. It remains to be seen whether the Mint will also issue the UNC Set with a booklet pack or the Proof Set with an MDF box.  The ₹100 coin is priced at ₹8,410 for the Proof Set, which comes packaged with a booklet pack. The Government of India will be issuing a ₹150  commemorative coin  and postal stamp to mark the 150 Years of Vande Mataram , the National Song of India.
