New Commemorative Coin: 75 Years of FAO

The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin to mark the '75 years of Food and Agricultural Organisation'. The coin will have a denomination of Rs 75, as confirmed by the Ministry of Finance through a gazette notification issued on September 17, 2020. The metal composition of the Rs 75 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy , comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows. The obverse of the coin features the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center, accompanied by the inscription āą¤øą¤¤ą„ą¤Æą¤®ą„ą¤µ ą¤ą¤Æą¤¤ą„ā below. The upper periphery displays the words āą¤ą¤¾ą¤°ą¤¤ā in Devanagari script and āINDIAā in English, with a five-pointed star between them.
