The India Government Mint, Hyderabad has commenced bookings for the commemorative coins issued in UNC Sets to mark Rani Channamma , NHPC Ltd , and Partagali Math . The bookings are open from February 17, 2026, and are subject to limited availability. These commemorative coins are being issued in UNC Sets with Booklet packaging. Earlier, the bookings for these themes were offered in Proof Sets with Booklet and Cardboard (Kappa) Box packaging. The ₹200 coin issued to mark the 200th Anniversary of Rani Channamma’s Victory at Kittur in a UNC Set with Booklet packaging is priced at ₹8,950. The ₹50 coin issued on  50 Years of NHPC Limited  in a UNC Set with Booklet packaging is priced at ₹8,970. The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced the bookings for the ₹200  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 200 years of Rani Channamma’s victory at Kittur . The bookings are open from October 24, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier in the day, Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, unveiled the commemorative coin in the presence of Swami Vachanananda from Karnataka. Several dignitaries, historians, cultural scholars, and representatives from Karnataka also attended the commemoration held at Siri Fort Auditorium, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi. The ₹200 coin is currently issued in a Proof Set with a Booklet and Cardboard (Kappa) Box packaging. Proof Sets with folder and MDF packaging, as well as UNC Sets with folder, may be introduced later. The Government of India will issue a ₹200  commemorative coin  to mark the 200th Anniversary of Rani Channamma's Victory at Kittur . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on October 22, 2025, confirming this coin. Rani Chennamma’s victory at Kittur in 1824 was one of the earliest acts of armed resistance against British rule in India. When the British East India Company tried to annex her kingdom under the Doctrine of Lapse, she refused to surrender and led her army with remarkable courage. Her forces defeated the British troops and killed their officer, St. John Thackeray, marking a significant victory for Kittur. Though later captured, Rani Chennamma’s defiance made her a symbol of bravery and patriotism, inspiring future generations in India’s freedom struggle.
