Mumbai Mint Commences Bookings for Vande Mataram Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has commenced the bookings for the ₹150  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 150 years of Vande Mataram . The bookings are open from November 7, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier in the day, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the event at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta; the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena; the Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; and several other eminent dignitaries, cultural icons, and scholars. The ₹150 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged in a booklet. It remains to be seen whether the Mumbai Mint will also release the Proof and UNC Sets in folder packaging, as well as the Proof Set in an MDF box. The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a ₹150  commemorative coin  and a postal stamp to mark  150 years of Vande Mataram  today, on November 7, 2025, at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. The celebrations witnessed a mass singing of the full version of “Vande Mataram” across public places, with participation from citizens representing all segments of society, in conjunction with the main programme. The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta; the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena; the Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; and several other eminent dignitaries, cultural icons, and scholars. MoF issues Gazette Notification for Vande Mataram Coin

The Ministry of Finance has issued a gazette notification announcing the ₹150 commemorative coin to mark the  150 years of Vande Mataram , the National Song of India. The notification was officially published on November 6, 2025. The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be releasing the  commemorative coin  and a postal stamp, at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi on November 7, 2025. The celebrations will feature a mass singing of the full version of “Vande Mataram” at around 9:50 AM across public spaces, with participation from citizens representing all sections of society, in harmony with the main programme. The year 2025 marks 150 years of Vande Mataram, one of India’s most iconic patriotic compositions written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875. The Government of India will be issuing a ₹150  commemorative coin  and postal stamp to mark the 150 Years of Vande Mataram , the National Song of India. Vande Mataram, the National Song of India, is a timeless ode to the motherland, symbolizing devotion, unity, and national pride. Written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875, the song beautifully personifies India as a divine mother, nurturing and sacred. Its powerful verses inspired countless Indians during the freedom movement, evoking deep patriotic fervor. Even today, Vande Mataram continues to resonate across generations, reminding every citizen of the eternal bond with the motherland and the spirit of selfless service to the nation.
