The 8th commemorative coin of 2024 was released to mark the Bhagwan Mahaveer 2550th Nirvan Kalyanak.

The 2550th Nirvan Kalyanak of Bhagwan Mahaveer marked a historic and deeply spiritual occasion for Jains and devotees of Indian philosophy worldwide. Bhagwan Mahaveer, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, is revered as a great teacher, spiritual reformer, and proponent of non-violence, truth, and compassion. Born in 599 BCE in the kingdom of Vaishali, he renounced worldly life at a young age to pursue ultimate knowledge and spiritual liberation. His teachings emphasized ahimsa (non-violence), satya (truth), aparigraha (non-possessiveness), and the path of self-discipline as a means to attain moksha, or liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

The 2550th Nirvan Kalyanak commemorated the anniversary of Mahaveer’s attainment of nirvana, or final liberation, an event that holds immense significance in the Jain calendar and for followers of his teachings. The celebrations, observed with reverence across India and in Jain communities worldwide, included prayers, rituals, lectures, processions, and cultural programs designed to spread his universal message. Mumbai Mint Commences Bookings for BSG Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has commenced the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin  issued to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Bharat Scouts and Guides . The bookings are open from today, December 24, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier on November 24, 2025, the Hon'ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, released a ₹75 coin and a postal stamp to mark the occasion while inaugurating the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.  The ₹75 coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, presented in a folder/blister pack. Additionally, the Proof Set is also available in an MDF box package. The Proof Set is priced at ₹6,667 and the UNC Set at ₹6,503, both offered in folder/blister packaging.
