Asia's Largest Numismatic Exhibition on 24, 25, 26 Feb 2023

The Asia's largest exhibition of coins, banknotes and stamps i.e. 14th National Numismatic Exhibition (NNE) 2023 organized by  Marudhar Arts , India's Leading Numismatic Auction House, is scheduled on 24th, 25th and 26th February 2023 at Shikshak Sadan, KG Road, Opp Kaveri Bhavan, Nagarathpete, Majestic, Bengaluru 560002. New Possible Coin: Central Bureau of Investigation

The Government of India is expected to issue a ₹60 commemorative coin in 2023 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Shri Ajay Agarwal, Director (Finance) of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India (SPMCIL), hinted at the release of this coin during an interview at the World Money Fair, held from February 3rd to 5th, 2023, in Berlin, Germany. He also confirmed that a commemorative coin for the G20 Summit 2023 is scheduled for release in the last week of February 2023. The CBI, India’s premier investigative agency, was established on 1st April 1963 through a resolution of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Initially tasked with investigating bribery and governmental corruption, the agency’s mandate was expanded in 1965 to cover violations of central laws, multi-state organized crime, international cases, and multi-agency investigations. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Sri Aurobindo Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened the bookings for  ₹150 commemorative coin issued to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of  Sri Aurobindo .  The bookings are open from February 14, 2023, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the commemorative coin along with the postage stamp to mark the event on  December 13, 2022 via video conferencing.  The programme was held in Kamban Kalai Sangam, Puducherry, under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The ₹150 commemorative coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, presented in a Folder/Blister pack.  The Proof Set is priced at ₹3,706 and UNC Set at  ₹3,443 . These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the  official website  of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the  current and upcoming bookings  section.

New Possible Commemorative Coin: Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati

A commemorative coin of ₹200 is more likely to be issued next year (2024) on occasion of 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. Today, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long celebration to commemorate the event. The Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “India is expressing pride over its legacy with tremendous self-respect and is asserting that it will strengthen its traditions while ushering in modernity”.  Born in 1824, Saraswati worked to counter the then prevalent social inequities. RBI to Introduce QR Code-Based Coin Vending Machines

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Shri Shaktikanta Das on February 8, 2023 said that the apex bank will start a pilot project to launch QR code-based coin vending machines (QCVM) in a bid to enhance ease of access to coins. The pilot will begin in 12 cities. "This will enhance the ease of accessibility to coins. Based on the learnings from the pilot, guidelines will be issued to banks to promote the distribution of coins using these machines," the governor said.  Rajsri Rengan, Head of Banking and Payments, India and Philippines, FIS, said that the QR code-based pilot will have ready access to coins for customers via UPI facility and the move by the RBI “is a strategic decision which will benefit the Indian payments landscape." It's a welcome move which will benefit the circulation of new coins with ease as well as the collector's community.

Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Srimat Swami Pranavanandji Maharaj Coins

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened bookings for commemorative coins issued on the 125th Birth Anniversary of Srimat Swami Pranavanandji Maharaj . The bookings are open from February 4, 2023, and it is subject to limited stock of 500 sets. Earlier, the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, released this commemorative coins through a virtual ceremony on July, 23 2022 at the ITA Machkhowa Complex in Guwahati. The Proof Set, packaged in folder or blister format, is priced at ₹6,084 and includes three non-circulating coins of ₹100, ₹50, and ₹10 denominations. The UNC Set in a Folder or Blister pack, as well as the Proof Set in an MDF box, may be issued at a later date. Previously, the Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Shillong had issued the single coins of ₹10, ₹50, and ₹100, as well as combined VIP and VVIP sets containing all three denominations, catering to both devotees and collectors. The President of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Shri Kamlesh Patel 'Daaji' released the ₹150 commemorative coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Fatehgarh, affectionately known as Lalaji, the Founder of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission on January 26, 2023. The release took place at the Heartfulness headquarters at Kanha Shanti Vanam, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, coinciding with the beginning of a ten-day-long music festival featuring performances by legendary Indian artists, followed by group meditation sessions. Mumbai Mint Opens Booking for 90th Interpol General Assembly Coins

The Mumbai Mint has opened the advanced booking for  ₹100 commemorative coins in  Proof and UNC sets of  90th Interpol General Assembly from 01-February-2023 to 15-March-2023. The commemorative coins were released on 18-October-2022 by the Prime  Minister Shri Narendra Modi  at  Pragati Maidan, New Delhi while attending the 90th Interpol General Assembly. The Proof Set is priced at ₹3565 and UNC Set at ₹3050 for the blister/folder packing. Whereas,  The Proof Set is priced at ₹4000 and UNC Set at ₹3715 for the Wooden Box packing.   The ₹100 commemorative coin depicts the conference theme which was issued after a long time. The commemorative coin is  available at Mumbai Mint Premises as well as at the  India Govt.
