President Releases ₹250 Coin on 250th Session of Rajya Sabha

A ₹250 commemorative coin and a postal stamp marking the historic 250th Session of the Rajya Sabha were released by the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, in the presence of Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla, and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Shri Prahlad Joshi. Addressing the landmark session, the Prime Minister said that the Rajya Sabha has made a significant contribution to the nation’s legislative history and has been witness to many historic moments. He noted that the vision of the Constitution’s framers in establishing a bicameral legislature has greatly strengthened India’s democratic foundations. New Commemorative Coin: 250th Session of Rajya Sabha

The Government of India will issue a ₹250  commemorative coin  to mark the ' 250th Session of Rajya Sabha '. The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on November 08, 2019, confirming the coin. In the midst of challenges, with leaders of the ruling coalition questioning its relevance and branding it obstructionist, the Rajya Sabha is poised to commemorate its 250th session in November-December this year. The  metal composition  of the ₹250 coin will consist of Pure Silver (99.9%). The coin will weigh 40 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows. Obverse:  The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. PM Modi Releases First-Ever ₹550 Coin on Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

The Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today unveiled a ₹550 commemorative coin to mark the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdaspur, Punjab. Participating in a special event at Dera Baba Nanak, held alongside the inauguration of the Integrated Check Post (ICP) and the Kartarpur Corridor, the Prime Minister urged everyone to uphold the teachings and values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The event was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Shri Amarinder Singh, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Shri Sukhbir Singh Badal, Shri Navjot Singh Sidhu, and several other dignitaries. PM Modi Releases Guru Nanak Dev Ji Thai Souvenir Token in Bangkok

The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a special commemorative token marking the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and also unveiled the Thai translation of the Tamil classic ‘Tirukkural’, ahead of his address at the Sawasdee PM Modi event in Bangkok on November 2, 2019. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted the deep-rooted civilisational, cultural, and spiritual bonds between India and Thailand. He remarked: “The relationship between India and Thailand is not attributed to any particular government. No single government can claim credit for this relationship.
