New Commemorative Coin: Centenary Year of Kaivalyadhama

The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin of ₹100 to mark the Centenary Year of Kaivalyadhama. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on September 27, 2023, confirming this event.

Founded by Swami Kuvalayananda in 1924, Kaivalyadhama has been a pioneer in promoting well-being, education, and research in the field of Yoga for the past century. Situated on a sprawling 180-acre campus in Lonavala, Maharashtra, it boasts a cutting-edge research facility, the world's first Yoga college, a healthcare center, and a CBSE school, among other amenities.

The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.

Obverse:  The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed  below, flanked  with the  word “भारत” and  "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol "₹” and denomination  value of “100” in International Numerals below the Ashoka Lion Capital.

Reverse: The face of the coin shall bear the image of the logo of Kaivalyadhama in the center of the coin. The inscription "कैवल्यधाम का शताब्दी वर्ष" in Devanagari script shall be written on the upper periphery on the coin and the inscription "Centenary Year of Kaivalyadhama" in English shall be written on the lower periphery of the coin. The year "1924" and "2024" in international numerals shall be flanked respectively on left middle and right middle periphery of the coin.
