The Reserve Bank of India is once again considering the introduction of polymer banknotes, reviving a proposal that was first explored more than a decade ago, according to a report by Business Standard. Mumbai Mint Begins Bookings for PMSMA Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai has started the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin issued to mark the 10 Years of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) . The bookings are open from today, June 9, 2026, and are subject to limited availability. Earlier today, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, released the commemorative coin and a postage stamp to mark the occasion in New Delhi. The ₹75 coin is currently available in a Proof Set presented in a booklet package, priced at ₹1,700.  This ₹75 coin marks the fifth nickel silver commemorative coin issued and the first-ever ₹75 denomination struck in this base-metal composition. New Commemorative Coin: 10 Years of PMSMA

The Government of India will issue a ₹75  commemorative coin to mark the 1 0 years of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on June 8, 2026, confirming this coin. The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, will release a ₹75 commemorative coin and a postage stamp on June 9, 2026 to commemorate “10 Years of PMSMA – A Decade of Care.” The event marks a decade of the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at providing quality antenatal care, ensuring safe pregnancies, and promoting healthy motherhood across the nation.
