New Commemorative Coin: Muthuvel Karunanidhi

The Government of Tamil Nadu is celebrating the Birth Centenary of the late M. Karunanidhi , a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and former president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). As part of this celebration, plans are in place to release a commemorative coin with a denomination of ₹100. Muthuvel Karunanidhi (3 June 1924 – 7 August 2018) was a prominent Indian writer and politician who held the position of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for nearly two decades, spanning five terms between 1969 and 2011. He is affectionately known as "Kalaignar" (Artist) and "Mutthamizh Arignar" (Tamil Scholar) for his invaluable contributions to Tamil literature. Karunanidhi holds the distinction of having the longest tenure as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, serving for a total of 6,863 days. New Commemorative Coin: 2550th Niravana Mahotsav of Lord Mahavir

The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin of ₹100 to mark the 2550th Nirvana Mahotsav of Lord Mahavir .  Shri Manoj Tiwari, a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, officially announced the issuance of the commemorative coin during the Shamavani program held on the 2nd of October 2023 at the historic Red Fort grounds in Delhi. The 2550th Nirvana Mahotsav of Shri Mahavir will indeed fall on the 13th of November 2023, coinciding with Kartik Amavasya. Ministry of Finance issues Gazette Notification for Rani Durgavati Coin

The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹500 to celebrate the  500th Birth Anniversary of Rani Durgavati . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on October 3, 2023, confirming the coin. Rani Durgavati (October 5, 1524 – June 24, 1564) reigned as the Queen of Gondwana from 1550 to 1564. She was married to Dalpat Shah, the son of King Sangram Shah of the Garha Kingdom. She is renowned for her resolute defense of her kingdom against the Mughal Empire. The metal composition of the ₹500 coin will consist of Pure Silver (99.9%). The coin will weigh 40 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.
