Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for Acharya Shri Mahapragya Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for the ₹100 commemorative coin issued to mark the 105th Birth Anniversary of Acharya Shri Mahapragya. The bookings began today, September 23, 2025, and are available in limited quantities.

Earlier, on August 17, 2025, in the presence of Jain Acharya Shri Mahashraman Ji, a commemorative coin was released during his Chaturmas at Koba, Ahmedabad. The event was graced by Shri Rajesh Kumar, Regional Manager of the Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Sunil Singhi from Jain Vishwa Bharti and Jain Vishwa Bharti Sansthan, along with other distinguished dignitaries. Later in the evening, the Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, released the coin at PHD House, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi. The occasion was attended by Member of Rajya Sabha Shri Lehar Singh Siroya, disciples of Acharya Shri Mahashraman Ji, Dr. Muni Shri Abhijit Kumar, Muni Shri Jagrit Kumar, and several other dignitaries.

The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a folder or blister pack. Additionally, the UNC Set with a folder or blister pack, as well as the Proof Set with an MDF box, may be issued at a later date.

The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a folder or blister pack, and is priced at ₹8,822.

The higher pricing can be attributed to its specifications—struck in pure silver (99.9%), weighing 40 grams, measuring 44 mm in diameter, and featuring 200 serrations along the edge. These factors, coupled with limited availability and the rising costs of silver and minting, make the coin relatively expensive for collectors.

These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the current and upcoming bookings section.
