Beware of the Fake Nabakelebara Coins at Online Shopping Portals

The counterfeit 1000 Rupees coins featuring Shri Jagannath Nabakelebara are already making their way into the market, particularly on online shopping portals. Intriguingly, it's important to note that this coin is yet to be officially released by the mint for collectors.

Identifying this counterfeit coin is straightforward, as the inscription is inaccurately written as 'Shri Jagganath Nabakelebra' instead of the correct 'Shri Jagannath Nabakelebara'.

Earlier, I reported on numerous instances of counterfeit commemorative coins flooding the market even before the official release by the India Government Mint.

Surprisingly, there seems to be little concern from the Indian Government Mint regarding this matter. Consequently, another fake coin has surfaced, and it is not unlikely that several more similar fakes will follow, potentially undermining the integrity of Indian Numismatics.

ICCG (Indian Coins and Currency Group) is diligently reporting these fraudulent coins to the Indian Government Mint and relevant legal authorities. It is hoped that these authorities will take stringent action against those exploiting collectors' hard-earned money.

Official notification about the bookings for these coins from India Mint will be issued through their official website and newspaper advertisements.
