Mumbai Mint opens booking for ₹75 NCC Coin Sets

The Mumbai Mint has opened bookings of the much awaited  ₹75   commemorative coin  on  75 years of Raising of National Cadet Corps   in  Proof and UNC sets with Folder/Blister package and Wooden Box packing  issued  from  30-May-2023 to 10-July-2023. The commemorative coin were released on 28-January-2023 by the Prime  Minister Shri Narendra Modi  while addressing the  NCC PM rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi. The Proof Set is priced at ₹3820 and UNC Set at ₹3300 for the Blister/Folder pack. For the Wooden box pack, t he Proof Set is priced at ₹4275 and UNC Set at ₹3990. PM Modi releases ₹75 coin while inaugurating New Parliament Building

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi while dedicating the  New Parliament Building  to the Nation released the ₹75  commemorative coin  and postage stamp to mark the occasion in New Delhi today. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi along with Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla performed pooja for inauguration of new Parliament building and installed ‘Sengol’ at New Parliament building. Shri Modi said that New Building of Parliament is going to fill all of us with pride and hope. New Commemorative Coin: New Parliament Building

The Government of India  will be issuing a Rs 75  commemorative coin  on occasion of Inauguration of New Parliament Building . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification today confirming the same. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on 28-May-2023. The inauguration will include a grand puja, installation of the Sengol, screening of two short films and release of a commemorative coin and postage stamp. The Indian government in 2019 launched the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, with the construction of a new parliament building as a part, alongside other projects in New Delhi, including revamping Kartavya Path, construction of a new residence for the Vice President, a new office and residence for the Prime Minister and combining all ministerial buildings in a single central secretariat. The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc)...

Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Raja Ram Mohan Roy Coin Sets

The Kolkata Mint has opened the bookings for  ₹250 commemorative coin sets of  Raja Ram Mohan Roy   in  Proof and UNC sets in Folder/Blister package and Proof Sets in MDF Box  from 24-May-2023 with 2000 quantity each. The commemorative coin was released on 22-May-2023 by  Hon'ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal along with Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal Shri C.V. Ananda Bose at Belvedere House, The National Library of India, Kolkata.  The Proof Set is priced at ₹3697 and UNC Set at  ₹3410  for the Folder/Blister package. The Proof Set in MDF Box Set is priced at  ₹4430.  It's the most awaited coin for the year 2023 and the  commemorative coin is  available at Kolkata Mint Premises as well as at the  India Govt. Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal Releases ₹250 Coin of Raja Ram Mohan Roy

The Hon'ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal along with Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal Shri C.V. Ananda Bose released the ₹250 commemorative coin  and postal stamp to mark the 251st Birth Anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy  today at Belvedere House, The National Library of India, Kolkata. The much-awaited commemorative coin of Raja Ram Mohan Roy has been minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. The mint has also arranged for a counter sale at the event, and a glimpse of the proof set is shown above.

RBI to Withdraw Rs 2,000 Notes from Circulation

The Reserve Bank of India has decided to withdraw Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes from circulation and asked all to exchange them by September 30, 2023. The Rs 2,000 notes, however, will continue to be legal tender. The ₹2000 denomination banknote was introduced in November 2016 under Section 24(1) of RBI Act, 1934, primarily to meet the currency requirement of the economy in an expeditious manner after the withdrawal of legal tender status of all ₹500 and ₹1000 banknotes in circulation at that time. The objective of introducing ₹2000 banknotes was met once banknotes in other denominations became available in adequate quantities. Therefore, printing of ₹2000 banknotes was stopped in 2018-19. In a statement released today, the central bank stated: “In pursuance of the “Clean Note Policy” of the Reserve Bank of India, it has been decided to withdraw the ₹2000 denomination banknotes from circulation. PM Modi releases ₹100 coin marking National Technology Day 2023

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the programme and released the commemorative coin along with the postage stamp marking National Technology Day 2023 , at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The programme will also mark the commencement of celebration of the 25th year of National Technology Day, which is held till 14th May 2023. Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh and Defence Minister of India Shri Rajnath Singh were also present at the event.  The celebration of National Technology Day was started by former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1999 to honour Indian scientists, engineers and technologists, who worked for India’s scientific and technological advancement and ensured the successful conduct of Pokhran tests in May 1998. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Mann Ki Baat Sets

The Kolkata Mint has opened the bookings of Mann Ki Baat   ₹100 commemorative coin  in  Proof and UNC sets from 6-May-2023 till stock last.  The coin along with the postage stamps were released on 26-April-2023 by the  Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah at the 'Valedictory Session of National Conclave on Mann Ki Baat @100' event held at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. However, the popular radio broadcast program was aired on 30-April-2023. The Proof Set is priced at ₹3781 and UNC Set at  ₹3494  for the blister/folder packing. New Commemorative Coin: National Technology Day

The Govt of India  will be issuing a Rs 100  commemorative coin  to mark the ' National Technology Day - 25th Anniversary of Operation Shakti ' . The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification yesterday confirming the same. The Indian government has officially declared 11 May as National Technology Day in India to commemorate the first of the five nuclear tests that were carried out on 11th May 1998. The metal composition of the coin will be  Quaternary Alloy  (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. The description of the coin is as below.
